Durham Police said a male is facing charges after he made numerous threats from his apartment window toward another male in the parking lot in Whitby.
On Friday, November 15, at about 7:25 am, members of Central West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Dundas Street West and Palace Street. Initial information was that a male armed with a gun, was making threats from his apartment window toward another male in the parking lot.
Officers arrived on scene and contained the area, while negotiations for the suspect to surrender were attempted. After a short time, officers, with the assistance of the Tactical Support Unit (TSU), entered the apartment unit and took the suspect into custody.
No firearm was located during a search of the apartment, police said.
A 33-year-old male from Whitby was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
