Taser-wielding man demands patrons leave Tim Hortons store

Durham Police yesterday said a male is in custody after making threats with a taser toward patrons at a Tim Hortons in Oshawa.

On Saturday, January 6 at about 5:25 pm, members of Central East Division responded to an armed person call at the Tim Hortons coffee shop located at 415 Simcoe Street South in Oshawa.

A male inside of the Tim Hortons demanded that all patrons exit the store while brandishing a taser in a threatening manner. Officers arrived on scene and located the male seated at a table. The male was taken into custody without incident and the taser was seized, police said.

The suspect, age 31 of no fixed address was charged and released on an undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
