Teen stabbed at midnight Pickering beach party

A teen was taken to a Toronto trauma hospital after a stabbing at a beach party in Pickering on Saturday morning.

On July 27 at 12:05 am., members of West Division responded to a stabbing on Beachpoint Promenade and West Shore Boulevard in Pickering. The male victim, a 17-year-old, was involved in an altercation with another teen when he was stabbed.

The suspect fled the scene prior to police arrival. The male victim was taken to a Toronto-area hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries. Police were able to locate a suspect nearby and he was taken into custody.

A 16-year-old Pickering male is charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Weapon Dangerous to the Public Peace; Carry a Concealed Weapon and Fail to Comply.

He was held for a bail hearing.
