A three building complex is planned to be built along Taunton Road in Whitby, according to town records.
The proposed site plan of the project at 380 Taunton Road West, is currently under review by the town.
The project includes three multi-storey, mixed-use developments, according to the town’s Planning Department.
A notice was issued by the town on October 1 to notify the public of the town’s intent to remove the “H” holding symbol from the site, as the Urban Design Plan required to remove it has now been prepared and approved. The October 20 Committee of the Whole meeting approved the removal of the holding symbol. A “H” holding symbol is a zoning tool that restricts development on land until specific conditions are met.
However, the project must still go to town council for approval at a future date.
“It’s important to note that construction timelines are determined entirely by the applicant following site plan approval. It’s the Town’s role to ensure that all applicable planning and development requirements are met throughout the process,” said a town spokesperson.
