A truck driver possibly had the luckiest escape of his life when was unharmed after their vehicle crashed through a roadway sign off the road way into the ditch.
OPP Highway Safety Division said the incident happened on the eastbound section of Highway 407 at the Darlington Clarke Townline in the Municipality of Clarington.
It said the single commercial motor vehicle (CMV) crashed straight into the right ditch. However, there were no injuries.
The off ramp lane to Darlington Clarke Townline was closed for for the investigation. Later, tow trucks were on the scene for removing the vehicle.
Taunton Road Closed
Meanwhile, the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday closed off a road in Ajax for a while.
Taunton Road was closed in both directions from Gillette to Audley. As well as north bound Warner from Fenton Cres to Taunton for an ongoing motor vehicle collision.
