McCarthy confirmed as PC Party’s Durham Riding candidate

The Ontario PC Party yesterday announced that Todd McCarthy has been acclaimed as the party’s candidate for Durham in the next provincial general election.

Since his election as MPP for Durham in 2022, Todd has been an advocate for his community, drawing on decades of experience as a lawyer specializing in civil litigation and administrative law, as well as his extensive public service as a Deputy Judge of the Small Claims Court and an adjunct professor.

“Todd has been an outstanding representative for Durham,” said Doug Ford, Leader of the Ontario PC Party. “His business expertise and dedication to public service have been instrumental in delivering results for his community—improving infrastructure, creating jobs, and ensuring that public services are efficient and effective. Todd has stood firm in defending his constituents from unnecessary taxes like the Liberal carbon tax and is committed to keeping costs down for families. I know he’ll continue to fight hard for the people of Durham.”

Together, Todd and the Ontario PC Party will focus on key priorities for Durham, including improving transportation infrastructure, widening the 401 in Durham Region, attracting investments to create good-paying jobs and ensuring homes are built to support the growing community, said a party statement.

“I’m deeply grateful for the trust the people of Durham have placed in me,” said McCarthy. “Representing this riding is both a privilege and a responsibility I take to heart. As we move forward, my focus remains on ensuring Durham continues to grow and thrive. Whether it’s building critical infrastructure, more homes or supporting job creation, I’m committed to delivering meaningful results for our community.”
