Two tried to steal cash, failed and settled for lottery tickets

Durham Police are searching for two suspects after they robbed a convenience store in Bowmanville in the Municipality of Clarington.

On Wednesday, October 9, at about 2:20 am, members of East Division responded to a robbery call at the Circle K convenience store, located at 180 King Street East.

Two males entered the store and attempted to take cash from the register. When they were unsuccessful, they forced an employee to open cabinets for lottery tickets and cigarettes. Both suspects fled the area prior to police arrival.

The victim did not sustain any physical injuries, police said.

The first suspect is described as: male, Black, approximately 5’6” tall, 20-30 years-old, with a heavy build. He was wearing a black balaclava mask, black/blue sweater, and gray jogging pants.

The second suspect is described as: male, Black, approximately 5’8” tall, 20-30 years-old, with a slender build. He was wearing a black balaclava mask, black winter coat, gray jogging pants, and brown shoes.
