13-year old girl charged, held for chasing another with knife

Durham Police said a 13-year-old female has been arrested after making threats with a knife during a physical altercation in Oshawa.

On Tuesday, October 8, at about 4:35 pm, members of Central West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Simcoe Street North and Britannia Avenue.

Two female youth were involved in a physical altercation resulting in one youth making threats with a knife. The suspect chased the victim with the knife when she attempted to flee. Police arrived on scene and located the suspect who was taken into custody.

The victim sustained minor injuries, police said.

A 13-year-old female from Oshawa was charged and held for a bail hearing.
