Durham Region is advising residents of a westbound lane closure at Bayly Street and Harwood Avenue South intersection in the Town of Ajax.
It is from today, July 27 until July 31.
It said the westbound lane of Bayly Street at the Harwood Avenue South intersection will be closed to through traffic.
Westbound traffic on Bayly Street will be detoured north onto Harwood Avenue South, west on Hunt Street, south on Commercial Avenue to return westbound on Bayly Street.
The turning lane heading south on Harwood Avenue South to west on Bayly Street will be closed, with one through lane heading south on Harwood Avenue. The turning lane heading north on Harwood Avenue South will be closed for traffic turning left onto Bayly Street.
The eastbound turning lane on Bayly Street will be shifted, but traffic will still be able to turn north onto Harwood Avenue.
Traffic restrictions are for mandatory concrete repairs to improve safety, the region said.
It said businesses in the area will remain open during construction.
Upcoming Restrictions On Brock Road
The Region of Durham is also advising residents of lane restrictions on Brock Road (Regional Road 1) in the City of Pickering from July 29 to August 7.
Southbound curb lane restrictions will take place on Brock Road, from some 100 metres north to 100 metres south of the Dillingham Road and Clements Road intersection. Access to Dillingham Road and Clements Road will remain open.
The restriction is needed to allow for Elexicon Energy infrastructure placement.
Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedules, the region said.
