Two schools in Courtice were yesterday placed under a ‘hold-and secure for security reasons, according to Durham Police.
It did not release any details as to what emergency led to the lock-down, except that it has received a tip-off.
“Hold and Secure at two schools in Courtice. Holy Trinity Catholic Secondary School and Good Sheppard Catholic Elementary School for a police investigation. We will advise on further info when it becomes available,” said a Durham Region Police Services tweet early yesterday afternoon.
Less than an hour later the restriction was lifted.
“The Hold and Secures are lifted, there is no threat or concerns to the safety of students or staff at this time. DRPS received a tip from a citizen and investigated the details,” it said.
