Two month hunt nets knifepoint Clarington carjackers

Durham Police have arrested and charged two males who stole a vehicle at knifepoint in Bowmanville.

On February 23, members of the Robbery Unit commenced an investigation after a vehicle was taken during a carjacking in Bowmanville. Police responded to the area of Bowmanville Avenue and Aspen Springs Drive after the victim reported his vehicle was stolen at knifepoint.

After an extensive investigation, police were able to identify and locate the two suspects involved. During the arrest of one of the suspects, officers located a loaded firearm on his person, said a police statement.

The victim did not suffer any physical injuries.
