Two seriously hurt in tractor-motorcycle crash

Two persons have been seriously injured in a collision yesterday in Clarington, according to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

The collision involved a tractor and a motorcycle in Newcastle yesterday evening.

“Driver and passenger of motorcycle have serious but non-life threatening injuries,” said a DRPS tweet.

It said Highway 2 between Golf Course Road and Brownsville Road in Newcastle, was closed for the collision investigation by DRPS East Division.

About an hour and a half later, DRPS tweeted that the road closure between Golf Course Road and Morgans Road has re-opened in both directions.

No further details were available.

Excuse Me?

Meanwhile, DRPS Traffic Services have reported a driver (below) who expected to be forgiven for speeding.

Saying you felt like you were “only” going 110 km/hr is not a good excuse in an 80 zone, said the police.
