This probably was a new one for the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) Traffic Services.
When stopped for speeding, a driver argued that she was going faster than what she had been clocked at.
“Well that’s a first… stopped for speeding…and argued how fast she was going … instead of the usual argument she was INSISTING she was going faster,” said a police tweet.
She was charged accordingly, it wryly added.
The driver was stopped by DRPS North Division officers.
Meanwhile, DRPS Traffic Services said a driver was stopped in Whitby just 1kmh away from losing his licence for a while.
A tweet pointed out that Dundas and McQuay in the Town of Whitby is a 50-zone.
“This driver (below) was 1 km away from being a pedestrian. Slow down!” said the police.
