Suspect who robbed store and cycled away charged

Durham Police investigators have identified and charged a suspect after he robbed a pharmacy in Whitby.

On May 30 at about 8 pm, members of Central West Division responded to a robbery at the Shoppers Drug Mart on Garden Street and Rossland Road. The suspect entered the store and grabbed a cellphone from the display counter. The male left the store without paying. The suspect was confronted by an employee. The suspect brandished a knife and threatened the employee before fleeing. It’s believed that he left on a dark mountain bike, said a police report.

The 27-year old suspect of No Fixed Address has been charged. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
