Two tickets within 15 minutes for the same violation

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday announced that March 28 marked the  start of week two of the Roadway Safety Initiative in and around the High Collision Intersections in Oshawa.

Officers from DRPS Central East Division have been monitoring traffic at the worst five intersections in Oshawa which account for the highest number of collisions.

In the first week, officers have issued 340 tickets and 70 warnings.

Surprisingly, two tickets were issued to one driver within 15 minutes for the same infraction, said a police tweet.

No further details were made available.
