Live music, auditions back at Keene Centre for the Arts

The shows – music et al – are back with a bang at The Keene Centre for the Arts across from Durham.

Every Saturday night until the end of June we have a show – and much more, says Ida Brown, organizer. “There are only 11 shows left in our Spring Series!”

For reservations, text or call the box office (705) 990-4512 to be added to the guest list to pay at the door. Text for rental enquiries at (705) 440-0527, she said.

Kids and teens are free, so get your tickets today, said Ida.

The next feature artist will be the one and only Cory M. Coons, who will go live on Saturday, April 2.

A Tribute to Neil Diamond by Wil Chalmers is a definite worth listening to on Saturday April 9, says Ida.

Apart from the Saturday nights music, The Keene Centre for the Arts has lined up its 2nd Annual Egg Hunt on April 16th at 10 am.

The very first Gospel Show is a must-go-to with Phoxy Music on April 23, reveals Ida.

On April 30, The Keene Centre for the Arts will feature Tapestry – the Carole King Songbook, with Suzanne O. Davis.

Then comes the Roy Allen show with $5 a ticket at the door, Ida said, followed by the famous Gunslingers on May 7.

Next will be the amazing Skinwalker Collective by Cole LeBlanc on May 14.

Linda Ronstadt

An incredible tribute to Linda Ronstadt will be performed by Wendy Laurier on June 4.

Another Keene Centre for the Arts tradition – the musical adaptation of Lord of the Flies with an all-ages cast set to a live band – goes on show on June 10 and 11.

And then comes the Groove Authority on June 18.

After that we have someone very special to welcome her home, says Ida Brown, the organizer. “We have Kat Lovett performing live on Friday night of June 24 in Keene.”

Kat will be opening the weekend up for an upcoming exciting cast party on the following Saturday and Sunday (June 25 and 26) at Springbank Cottages in Roseneath. “Stay tuned!” says Ida.

Public Auditions

In September, The Keene Centre for the Arts will have auditions for The Secret Garden. These will be held on Thursdays, followed by The Burnt River Band plus Saturday Nights Kids Club.
“Again, stay tuned,” says Ida.
