Upcoming and ongoing Durham road, lane closures

The Regional Municipality of Durham is advising residents of upcoming lane restrictions on Thickson Road South and Wentworth Street in the Town of Whitby.

These are to begin on April 3 and projected to last until April 6.

Where: Thickson Road South (Regional Road 26), from 100 metres north to 100 metres south of Wentworth Street; and on Wentworth Street (Regional Road 60), from 100 metres east to 100 metres west of Thickson Road South, in the Town of Whitby.

The municipality said traffic restrictions are required to safely repair a watermain.

It said businesses in the area will remain open throughout the construction.

Baldwin Street South in Whitby

The Regional Municipality also advised of ongoing lane restrictions on Baldwin Street South in the Town of Whitby’s community of Brooklin.

These were scheduled from March 27 until the middle of May.

Where: Baldwin Street South (Regional Road 12), both north and south of the intersection of Baldwin Street South and Roybrook Avenue in Brooklin.

The municipality said traffic restrictions are required to safely construct a new entrance into a development.

Thorah Concession Road 5 in Brock

The Regional Municipality of Durham announced a road closure on Thorah Concession Road 5 in the Township of Brock.

The closure is from April 3 to June 30. The entire construction project is anticipated to be completed by mid-July. Unfavourable weather conditions may influence the work schedule.

Where: Thorah Concession Road 5, from Cedar Beach Road to Murray Street, in the Township of Brock.

The municipality said traffic restrictions are required to safely install a watermain.

North Street in Newcastle

There have been lane restrictions on North Street (Regional Road 17) in the community of Newcastle in the Municipality of Clarington, since February 20.

These are expected to last until May 31. The restrictions are for road reconstruction work.

Where: North Street, from 50 metres north of the CPR Grade Separation to Monroe Street West in the community of Newcastle.
