The Regional Municipality of Durham is notifying residents of upcoming lane restrictions and road closures in Whitby and Clarington respectively.
It said lane restrictions on Taunton Road East (Regional Road 4) in the Town of Whitby, will begin from October 10 till October 27. There will be westbound lane restrictions on Taunton Road East from Brock Street North (Regional Highway 12) to McKinney Drive, in Whitby, to safely install a watermain and sanitary sewer for a new development.
Closure at Bowmanville Avenue intersection in Clarington
The Regional Municipality of Durham also advised of an upcoming full closure of the intersection at Bowmanville Avenue and Regional Road 3/Concession Road 8 in the Municipality of Clarington.
It will be from October 10 to October 24, to carry out works on the Bowmanville Avenue Roundabout project.
Traffic and emergency vehicles will be advised to use alternative routes. Access for local residents will be maintained throughout the closure.
The region said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete the work as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists, and work crews.
