UPDATE: Police seek help over drive-by shooting at Ajax home

Durham Police said multiple shots were fired at a residence in an Ajax drive-by shooting on Thursday (see earlier story below).

On February 22 at about 6:50 pm, members of West Division responded to an armed person call in the area of Daniels Crescent and Matthew Street, in Ajax.

Multiple gun shots were heard being fired in the area. Officers arrived on scene and located multiple shell casings on the roadway in front of a residence.

Upon closer inspection officers observed multiple bullet holes in the residence. Police we’re unable to make contact with anyone inside the residence and entered the home to ensure there were no injuries. The residence was confirmed empty, and no injuries have since been reported, police said.

A white SUV was reportedly observed fleeing the area when the shooting occurred.

Police were able to contact the homeowners who confirmed that no one was at the residence at the time of the shooting.
