Victim seriously hurt after being assaulted

Durham Police yesterday said a victim is in hospital with serious injuries after being assaulted in Clarington by an unknown suspect.

Officers from East Division are investigating an assault that occurred on Tuesday, June 27 at about 3:40 pm, in the area of Baxter Street and Aspen Springs Drive in Clarington after a male was assaulted in his driveway.

The victim was involved in a verbal argument with the driver of a white pick-up truck. During the argument the victim was assaulted and is currently in hospital with serious injuries, said a police statement.

The vehicle is described as a newer white model Dodge Ram with a Canada flag on the front quarter panel.

The driver is described as male, White, medium build, dark hair and was wearing a hat, a fitted long sleeve construction shirt, blue jeans, and work boots.

Police are looking for anyone with information in relation to the assault or the vehicle to contact investigators. Investigators are also encouraging the driver of the vehicle to contact a lawyer and turn himself into police.
