Who is the new Ajax Fire Chief for a Day?

Ajax Fire and Emergency Services yesterday announced that 10-year-old Aysha of Eagle Ridge Public School is this year’s ‘Fire Chief for a Day’.

Aysha’s poster illustrated her knowledge and understanding of key fire safety messages such as having working smoke alarms, as well as creating and practicing a family escape plan, said a town statement.

  • Aysha was selected from 495 submissions.

The winner will be picked up at her school on Wednesday, October 19 in an Ajax Fire Services vehicle and spend the afternoon as the Town’s Fire Chief.

    Itinerary for October 19:

1:30 pm – Ajax Fire Chief Dave Lang and Sparky to surprise Aysha at Eagle Ridge Public School

  • 2:00 pm – Eagle Ridge to participate in school fire drill. Chief Aysha and Chief Lang to oversee evacuation
