Car-hit stab suspect charged with second degree murder

Durham Police homicide investigators have laid a charged in Durham Region’s 11th homicide of 2022.

On Saturday, October 15 at about 2am, members of West Division responded to an altercation out front of King’s Castle Bar and Grill located on Westney Road South in Ajax. A male was located with a stab wound and later died in hospital.

Investigators have now charged a suspect from Ajax with Second Degree Murder. Name available at www.drps.ca.

The suspect was struck by a vehicle in the same parking lot following the stabbing. He remains in hospital in stable condition.

The name of the victim is being withheld at the request of the family, police said.

Investigators are looking for anyone with information to come forward, as well as anyone that was at the bar or who may have video footage of the incident.
