After yesterday’s 5-2 win over Kansas City Royals, Toronto Blue Jays are in the second American League Wild Card spot. Tampa Bay Rays (number one spot) and Seattle (number three), are the other two teams.
There are only two final spots, and the Blue Jays hope to defeat the Texas Rangers (number 4) to seal their spot.
The Rangers, who suffered a heavy loss to the Astros, are out of the playoff picture for the first time since early April.
Not over and far from favorites
Even if the Blue Jays are at the moment in the playoffs, it doesn’t necessarily mean it is going to stay that way. Sports betting site 888sport have the Jays in 7th position to reach the playoffs, but still with really decent odds at 1.44.
When it comes to winning the World Series, Toronto is not really in the picture. They currently rank as 10th to win outright with odds at 21.00, really far behind the favorites : the Braves (3.30) and the Dodgers (5.25).
