With no challengers, Michael Jubb acclaimed Brock mayor

Deputy Mayor and Regional Councillor Michael Jubb has officially been acclaimed as Mayor of Brock Township following the close of nominations for the upcoming by-election.

The by-election was triggered by the sudden resignation of former Mayor Walter Schummer, who stepped down in June citing personal reasons (see below).

According to the Township of Brock, as of 2 pm on Friday, July 25, only one candidate had filed their nomination papers. With no challengers, Jubb has been acclaimed and is now considered the Mayor Elect. His formal oath of office will be administered on Monday in the clerk’s office.

A report outlining the process to fill the now-vacant Regional Councillor position will be presented to Brock Council in September.
