Durham Regional Police have charged a 46-year-old man with breaching a court-imposed prohibition order after he was found to have visited Heydenshore Park in Whitby.
According to police, on Monday, June 28, members of the Central West Criminal Investigations Branch (CIB) observed an unoccupied vehicle parked in the main lot of the park, directly in front of the children’s playground area. The vehicle was linked to a man known to police.
Upon further investigation, officers confirmed that the man is subject to a court order prohibiting him from attending parks, playgrounds, or any location where children under the age of 16 are reasonably expected to be present. Officers determined that the man had attended the park, in violation of this order.
A 46-year-old male, of Whitby, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
