Woman arrested and held for trying to flee traffic stop

A 43-year-old female was arrested after fleeing from police during a traffic stop in Clarington early Wednesday morning.

On October 26 at about 1:55 am, members of East Division conducted a traffic stop in the area of Highway 2 and Prestonvale Road. The driver drove off from the traffic stop and a short pursuit ensued. Officers were able to stop the suspect vehicle and the driver was taken into custody, said a police statement.

The woman, of Aweres Township, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
