UPDATE: 78-year old motel stab victim serious, one charged

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) investigators have charged a 27-year-old male in connection to a stabbing on Thursday afternoon.

On October 27 at about 3:05 pm, members of Central West Division responded to Motel 6 on Consumers Drive in Whitby for a stabbing.

The suspect approached the 78-year-old victim and stabbed him before taking his personal property and fleeing. The victim was taken to a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators were able to locate the suspect and he was arrested nearby.

The suspect from Clarington was charged and held for a bail hearing. Names and further details available at www.drps.ca.
