DRPS Traffic Services officers must have heard a lot of excuses in the line of duty, but one that they highlighted yesterday was from a speeding driver who supposedly held his bowel movement in check all the way from Peterborough to Ajax – where he was caught.
Officers saw a car doing 110 in a 70kmz zone on Taunton and Audley Road in the Town of Ajax.
“Adult driver stated, I have to poop. That’s a long hold from City of Peterborough to Ajax!” said a police tweet.
On phone fails to stop: DRPS East Division officers were in Enniskillen yesterday doing stop-sign road safety.
Several vehicles, including Commercial Motor Vehicles, have been ticketed for disobey stop sign, said a police tweet.
Not only did a driver towing a trailer fail to stop, the person were also talking on their cell phone, it added.
One injured in crash: Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday said eastbound Taunton Road between Garrard Road and Somerville Street was shut down for a collision investigation.
“One party taken to hospital with serious but non-life threatening injuries,” said a tweet.
The road was later re-opened.
Meanwhile, in the hamlet of Whitevale in the City of Pickering, there is a posted 60kmh zone.
The speed limit changes to 80kmh outside of the built-up area, it reminded.
North Division officers were out patrolling the Scugog island yesterday morning.
They clocked a driver speeding at 90kmh in a 60-zone in Scugog.
That is too fast. Please obey the speed limit.
