Police looking for suspect and Rav4 in hit-and-run case

Durham Police are requesting the public assistance in locating a vehicle that struck and seriously injured a woman in Ajax.

On October 17, members from West Division attended the area of Salem Road and Kingston Road after receiving reports that a vehicle struck a female pedestrian leaving her with serious injuries. The vehicle fled the area and investigators have been unable to locate the driver or the vehicle, said a police statement.

The vehicle is described as an older model Toyota Rav4, light blue in colour with a spare tire well on the back in the same colour. The driver is described as male, light/tanned skin, 5’4 to 5’8” tall, 40 to 50 years, medium build, wearing a black jacket, black pants, and a red Team Canada hat.
