A day in the life of Mini Chief Gabriel Perruccio

Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) yesterday hosted its mini chief Gabriel Perruccio, with a day packed with activities.

He started his day at Regional HQ. Perruccio was sworn in by Chief Rollauer (below) and later toured the region to learn more about policing.

Chief-for-a-Day contest winner, Gabriel Perruccio, kicked off with the Change of Command Oath of Office at Regional Headquarters in Whitby. Chief Peruccio then visited the Traffic Services Branch, toured Forensic Investigative Services, and watched demonstrations on Use of Force and the DRPS K-9 unit.

His day concluded with a trip on AIR1, from the Oshawa Executive Airport.

During his visit to DRPS Traffic Services, Perruccio learned about accident reconstruction and even got to test out of the motorcycles (top image).

The Mini Chief also learned about the extensive training police officers go through (see below).

He also met with S/Sgt Wyatt and got to visit 911 communications. He was able to see where they take the incoming calls.
