Woman critical after hitting pole, airlifted to trauma centre

Durham Police said a 31-year-old female suffered serious injuries after a single motor vehicle collision in Bowmanville.

On Saturday, August 5th at about 12:20 pm, officers from East Division responded to a single motor vehicle collision in the area of Baseline Road East and Bennett Road in Bowmanville. A black Jeep was located in a ditch where it had hit a hydro pole.

The female driver of the Jeep was air lifted by Ornge air ambulance to a Toronto-area trauma centre. She was unconscious at the time of transport and remains in critical condition, police said.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
