Durham Police officers arrested a female suspect after a convenience store robbery in Clarington Thursday afternoon.
On February 3 at about 1:05 pm, members of East Division were called to the Circle K convenience store on Bowmanville Avenue for a robbery. The suspect entered the store and made a demand for cash while brandishing a firearm. The suspect took cash and fled on foot, said a police statement.
The store employee didn’t receive any physical injuries.
Officers searched the area, located and seized an airsoft handgun and evidence. The suspect was located in a nearby residential area, the statement said.
The 32-year old resident of Clarington is charged with: Robbery with Offensive Weapon; Weapons Dangerous; Use Imitation Firearm During Commission of an Offence; Forcible Confinement and Wear Disguise with Intent.
She was held for a bail hearing.
