Woman wanted to get home quickly at 175kmh in 80-zone

There have been a variety of excuses offered by drivers when faced with a traffic violation, such as annoying kids in car or having to get to a washroom fast.

However, this one woman in Scugog simply wanted to get home quickly.

The only trouble was that she was in such a hurry, she was tearing down the road at more than double the speed limit, according to officers of the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) North Division.

“This driver learned the hard way that driving 175kmh in a posted 80-zone to get home quickly is a bad idea, said a tweet.

“Luckily she didn’t have an accident before officers stopped her on Simcoe Street, the tweet said adding that she got a 30-day licence suspension and 14-day car impoundment plus Highway Traffic Act charges.
