The Regional Municipality is advising residents and businesses of upcoming lane restrictions on Regional Road 3 in the Municipality of Clarington.
These will be from May 4 to June 30, 2027. Unfavourable weather conditions may impact the work schedule, the region said.
Construction activities will shut down during the winter period from December 1 until May 1, 2027. A full road closure will be required this summer. Details will be communicated in advance of the closure, it added.
Daytime lane restrictions will be in place on Regional Road 3, from east of Townline Road (Regional Road 55) to west of Enfield Road (Regional Road 34), in the Municipality of Clarington. One lane of traffic will remain open.
This work is part of the reconstruction project to rebuild and widen Regional Road 3.
Seven-Month Road Closure
Durham Region is also advising residents of a road closure on Zephyr Road (Regional Road 13) to replace the Laurie Bridge, in the Township of Uxbridge.
This will take place from May 4 to November 30.
Road closure will be in place from Concession Road 5 to Concession Road 6, to safely replace the Laurie Bridge, install a new guide rail system, new pavement markings and complete landscaping.
The region said it realizes that the work may be disruptive and will make every effort to complete it as quickly and efficiently as possible. Drivers are asked to exercise caution for the safety of pedestrians, cyclists and work crews.
