12-storey building proposed for downtown Oshawa

The City of Oshawa has received applications regarding a proposed 12-storey building housing 140 apartments in the downtown area.

The applicant proposes to develop the site at 39 Athol Street West for a new 12-storey apartment building containing 140 apartment units, said the city announcement.

The application to amend Zoning By-law 60-94 (File: Z-2023-01) has been submitted by Independent Project Managers on behalf of Central Clear View Developments Inc.

The purpose of the application is to rezone the lands from CBD-B (Central Business District) to an appropriate site specific CBD-B Zone, to implement the proposed development with site specific conditions to permit certain performance standards such as, but not necessarily limited to, increased residential density and building height and reduced required residential parking, it added.

The city said a planning act public meeting will be held on March 6 at 6:30 pm at the Oshawa City Hall, 50 Centre Street South.

The Oshawa Economic and Development Services Committee will be considering the above referenced application for the lands as shown shaded on the map (below) at the public meeting. The application has been determined to be complete.
