15-year old faces 11 charges for Wentworth shooting

Durham Police yesterday said a male is in custody following a shooting that occurred in Oshawa on Saturday evening.

On January 27 at about 6:45 pm, members of Central East Division responded to reports of an armed person in the area of Wentworth Street West and Cedar Street in Oshawa.

Officers arrived on the scene and located a male suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a Toronto-area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries (see earlier story here).

A 15-year-old male was arrested at the scene without incident. The suspect from Oshawa is facing 11 charges including: Pointing a Firearm, Discharge Firearm with Intent, Aggravated Assault, and Fail to Comply with Undertaking x2. He was held for a bail hearing.

Investigators are appealing to anyone who may have security camera footage or dash cam footage from the area of Wentworth Street West and Cedar Street in Oshawa, or anyone who may have any other information about this incident to contact police.
