18-year old charged with multiple firearms offences

Durham Police yesterday said an 18-year-old male has been charged with multiple firearms offences after being found with a loaded handgun in Ajax.

On Tuesday, May 30 at about 7:30 pm members of the Gun and Gang Unit conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle in the area of Westney Road North and Kingston Road West.

The vehicle and occupants were searched as a result of the investigation, and a loaded handgun with overcapacity magazines and ammunition was seized, said a police statement.

The suspect of Ajax is facing nine charges. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
