28-year old charged for apartment building fire

A 28-year-old male has been charged following a fire at an apartment complex in Uxbridge.

Members of the North Division Criminal Investigations Bureau commenced an investigation on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, following a fire at an apartment complex on Brock Street West. It was determined the fire was set intentionally, said a police statement.

Members from North Division had initially responded to a fight call. When officers responded to the apartment, the building was on fire and spreading to multiple units. Numerous residents were displaced as a result of the fire damage. The office of the Ontario Fire Marshal was contacted and are investigating the fire.

It said the suspect from Uxbridge was charged and released on an Undertaking. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
