A 50-year-old man has been arrested following an attempted break-and-enter at a residence in Uxbridge, police say.
According to Durham Regional Police, officers from North Division responded to reports of a break-in in progress near Regional Highway 47 and Goodwood Road at about 1:15 am on Tuesday, June 3.
Police say the suspect tried to force entry into the home, causing significant damage to the exterior of the property and to several vehicles parked in the driveway. The residents were home at the time of the incident, but no physical injuries were reported.
The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, but was identified shortly afterward. Officers from the North Division’s Community Response Unit later arrested the man without incident.
A 50-year-old male, of Toronto, was charged and held for a bail hearing. Name and further details available at www.drps.ca.
