Durham Police said a 67-year-old female remains in hospital after a house fire in the early hours of Saturday morning in Oshawa.
On July 22 at about 12:30 am, officers from Central East Division responded to a home at 250 McNaughton Avenue in Oshawa for a working house fire.
There were two occupants inside the home at the time of the fire, both were able to get out of the home. However, the female occupant suffered smoke inhalation and was transported to a local area hospital in life-threatening condition. Her condition has since been upgraded to critical, said a police statement.
The Ontario Fire Marshal attended the scene and has deemed the fire to be suspicious, it added.
Anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident, that has video surveillance, or any information is asked to contact investigators.
