Man rammed by Dodge truck airlifted to trauma centre

A 27-year-old male has been airlifted to a Toronto-area trauma centre after being struck by a vehicle in north Oshawa.

On Saturday July 22 at about 1:35 am, officers from Central West Division and East Division were called to Simcoe Street North, north of Howden Road in Oshawa for a pedestrian that was struck by a vehicle.

A 27-year-old male from Toronto was walking southbound on the east side of the roadway when he was struck by a northbound Dodge Ram pick-up truck.  The male was transported by Orngeto a Toronto-area trauma centre with life-threatening injuries. The male remains in hospital in critical condition, said a police statement.

The driver of the Dodge Ram pick-up remained on scene and is cooperating fully with the investigation, it added.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
