Female driver dies after car crashes off the road

Durham Police yesterday said a 71-year-old female is deceased following a single motor vehicle collision.

On Friday, July 21 at about 10:15 am, members of West Division were called to Pickering Uxbridge Townline and Sideline 28, Pickering.

The vehicle had been travelling southbound on Sideline 28 when it left the roadway. The female driver was transported to a local-area hospital where she was pronounced deceased, said a police statement.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected, it added.
