16-year old killed in head-on dirt bike-car collision

Durham Police yesterday said a 16-year-old male was fatally injured in a head on-collision involving a dirt bike and motor vehicle in Uxbridge.

On Wednesday, July 19 at about 9:30 pm, members of North Division were called to a motor vehicle collision involving a dirt bike and motor vehicle at Sideline 28 and Uxbridge Pickering Townline Road.

The motor vehicle was travelling eastbound and crossed the centerline making contact with a dirt bike travelling westbound. The male of the dirt bike was transported to a local area hospital where he was pronounced deceased. The female driver remained on scene and fully cooperated with police, said a police statement.

Members of the Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The area of the roadway was closed for several hours while evidence was collected. This collision is still under investigation.
