Oshawa Power snaps photo of scammer’s car and plate

Oshawa Power announced it has been able to photograph the vehicle – with its number plate – of a scammer who had been trying to defraud customers.

“Last week, our team spotted an individual going door-to-door, posed as an Oshawa Power team member, threatening to disconnect service if payment was not made immediately,” said a company statement.

It said the incident has been reported to the Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS).

“Our team will continue working hard to keep our customers safe from utility-related scams occurring in our service territory,” said the company statement.
