An 86-year-old male has succumbed to his injuries after being struck by a vehicle in Beaverton Tuesday afternoon.
On October 24 at about 3 pm, members from North Division responded to a report of a collision involving a pedestrian on Simcoe Street in downtown Beaverton. An 86-year-old male pedestrian had been struck by an eastbound Chevrolet mini-van while attempting to cross the street, said a police statement.
The pedestrian sustained serious injuries and was pronounced deceased during transport by EMS to the hospital. The driver of the mini-van remained on scene and cooperated with investigating officers, it added.
Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
