There is no use outrunning or hiding when it comes to Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) K-9 Unit – as many a perp have found out.
A car thief was no different, succumbing to the seductive appeal of Police Service Dog (PSD) Klutch.
PC Wes King, K9 Klutch and DRPS Central West Division teamed up to track and locate a suspect who fled from a stolen vehicle after crashing it while fleeing from the police.
The incident happened in Brooklin, Whitby.
“K9 Klutch located the suspect hiding in some deep brush. He wisely surrendered without incident. One in custody,” said a recent tweet from the K-9 Unit.
No further details were released.
