Morning head-on crash leaves both drivers seriously hurt

Two drivers sustained serious injuries following a collision in Oshawa on Friday morning.

On March 7, at about 8 am, members from East Division said they responded to a collision involving two motor vehicles on Simcoe Street North just south of Howden Road East. A Mazda pickup truck, traveling northbound, lost control and veered into the path of a southbound GMC SUV, resulting in a head-on collision. The impact caused severe damage to both vehicles.

The 25-year-old male driver of the Mazda and a 52-year-old female driver of the GMC were both taken to Toronto-area trauma centres with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.

Members of the DRPS Collision Investigation Unit attended the scene to conduct an investigation. The roads in the area were closed for several hours while evidence was collected.
