Highway 2 resurfacing begins, lane restrictions expected

Durham Region is advising residents that lane restrictions will be in place on Regional Highway 2 in the Municipality of Clarington as part of a scheduled road resurfacing project.

According to the region, the work was scheduled to begin on July 17 and continue through to September. The timeline may be affected by unfavourable weather conditions.

Lane restrictions will be in effect in two sections:

  • From west of Ovens Road to 30 metres west of Newtonville Road (Regional Road 18)
  • From 120 metres east of Newtonville Road to east of East Townline Road

Durham Region states the work will include removing, rejuvenating, and replacing the existing surface asphalt.
