The Town of Ajax has announced the official ground-breaking at Vidal Apartments, site of a new 10-storey residential development by Matrix Development Group located at 234 Bayly Street East.
According to the town, the project will deliver 209 new rental homes in the heart of Ajax, with 10 percent of the units designated as affordable housing. The building will include a range of one-, two-, and three-bedroom suites, designed to support the needs of a growing and diverse community.
Sustainability features are central to the development. As noted by the Town of Ajax, Vidal Apartments will include:
- 50% EV-ready parking and on-site car-sharing
- A green roof and landscaped outdoor areas
- A design that targets 40% greater energy efficiency than current building code
- Smart building automation systems and low-flow water fixtures
Planned amenities will provide a modern living experience, including:
- Yoga and fitness rooms
- Business lounge and study spaces
- Pet wash station
- Kids’ room and sports lounge
- Outdoor BBQ and gathering areas
