After failed shooting, suspects whack victim with gun

Durham Police said a male is recovering from injuries after being struck in the head with a firearm in Oshawa.

On Friday July 18 at about 11 pm, members from Central East Division responded to reports of an armed person in the area of Oxford Street and Malaga Road.

Officers arrived on scene and learned that two males approached the victim and made a demand for his property. The suspects then attempted to shoot the victim. However, after the failed attempt, he was struck in the head with the firearm. The suspects fled the area, and the victim was transported to a local-area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at time and may have any information or video surveillance to contact investigators.
